Building Community One Hour at a Time.

What's Happening?

November 10 at 6:30 PM: Join us for our "Thanksgiving for Timebanking" annual potluck and new member orientation.  Bring a Thanksgiving type dish to share.  We will also take the time to have a listening group to share our stories of the last five years and where the future will lead us as a timebank.  Everyone is welcomed!

Location: TBA

Each of us has unique gifts, talents, and resources to share, and we all have needs that others can fill. Let's help each other build the community we all want to live in!

How Does the Mercer Island Timebank (miTimebank) Work? Timebanking helps neighbors enjoy the necessities and the niceties of life by exchanging time instead of dollars. Through Timebanks of Puget Sound, miTimebank members will have a simple Internet-based system to list the services they want to give and receive. The website introduces timebank members to each other, facilitates the exchange of services, and keeps track of the hours exchanged. All services are valued equally. miTimbeank members will be listed under the "Mercer Island" Neighborhood with the Timebanks of Puget Sound database. miTimebank members will exchange services with other  miTimebank members, and can also exchange services with other neighborhoods in the region, if desired. The online database makes it easy to see what skills and services your neighbors have to offer, and what services they need, so you can match your skills and needs with others in the community.
